MEMORY #16 // SIG NEG
This one's cut for lots of s-s-spoilers!
This is the beginning of episode 7! Sayaka goes home with Kyuubey and accuses him of lying to them about what it meant to become a magical girl; he says they just didn't ask about the details, so he didn't bother telling them, because it's easier anyway if they don't know! (ftr the "details" get explained in a previous scene: Sayaka's body is essentially dead, and her soul is in her Gem, which controls her human body from outside.) He explains that humans aren't at all aware of their souls and their ties to their bodies, so he just takes their souls out because it's easier to keep them safer during battles if they're not inside their bodies. (This is also explained in the earlier scene; with their "new" bodies, they won't die even if their body is basically annihilated, because their soul is safe outside their body.)
Then he demonstrates how much more painful fighting and being injured would be if Sayaka's body and soul were still normal by stepping on her Soul Gem and basically sending her body the sensation of being impaled on a spear. KYUUBEY IS SO HELPFUL. Sayaka writhes on the floor and cries as he explains that she could only fight Kyouko because she was shielded from the pain of those attacks, and that if she really pushes herself, she'll stop feeling pain entirely--but that's not a good idea, because it'll slow you down :) so don't do that :)
She asks why this had to happen, and he tells her that it's the price she paid for making her wish. OH NOOOOOO.
So yeah this is going to go super well!
